Gift exchange for the kids too!

Planned this gift exchange since like forever! Set the budget, for both the tots and ourselves. And we had a great time at Junction 8 for lunch and some shopping. Three kids together in a mall is oh-my-god! When I finally reached home, I was exhausted literally.

I was so relieved that the tots were all drinking a little bottle of Yakult. So we relaxed a little and then had our awesome gift exchange! :)

Caught the Elmo meet-and-greet show at Plaza Singapura, and Kaykay was absolutely happy about it. I could tell you the joy I have when I see her smiling and so happy all day long. :)

First trip to the beach

More than 2 weeks ago, we packed our bags and went to Palawan beach at Sentosa. I insisted a no tan session, so only reached at around 4PM. Kaykay was super afraid of the sand before this, she would keep her legs up when we try to place her on sand surfaces. And even cry when I leave her stranded on sand surfaces.

She was so super looking forward to building sandcastles at the beach after reading a storybook we borrowed from the library, so we chop chop took on her enthusiasm and brought her to play with sand! :)

Wonder if anyone realised I've been MIA-ing for quite a period of time.

My laopok lappy was sent to servicing cos it's been acting up quite alot, couldn't take it anymore. And no thanks to the service peeps at Newstead at IMM, took super long to reformat and service my laptop. Initially told me, two hours and it'd be ready for collection. I couldn't stay so came back the next day but not done yet. Total took up 4 days to get my laptop back, really turned off. It's cheaper than servicing at HP's service centre though.

Anyway, will be back blogging and uploading lotsa photos. iPhone takes fab photos, but the battery life is horrible. I would charge up to 4 times a day. And I don't use it alot. A gauge would be something like this; Kaykay watches a YouTube video in the car for less than 10 mins and it would use up more than 10% of my battery life. No exaggerating and no lies. Off-ed all notifications for WhatsApp, Twitter and FaceBook already. Photos soon, end of grumbling. :)

First time ever attending my daughter's 'public' performance. Managed to record in on video and let sweet and meaningful memories be taken down forever. :)

First video is rather terrible, kept shifting cos the person infront of me can't stop moving, I had to find a place to record proper. Couldn't be in the front row cos I had to hide away from Kaykay, once she sees me I'd probably have to dance with her. Haha! So that's an excuse for the horrible filming. She's constantly looking out for me during the whole performace. In the second video, she almost spotted me, luckily Miss Diyanah quickly diverted her attention. :)

Hope you've enjoyed! :) This is the last day of Kaykay in playgroup, and the next year she returns school she'd in Nursery One! See all her friends on 3rd January 2012. ♥

agape Preschool Year-end Concert

It's the first 'concert' that Kaykay ever got involved in and I can't help but feel super excited. :) Gathered in school at 10AM together with the N1 tots and the whole place was super lively. :)

Before commencing, Miss Diyanah and Mrs Mohan came over for a short briefing. I was so excited and so nervous at the same time. I need to video the whole 'concert' and I need to 'hide' myself from Kaykay. She'd probably cry and want to stay by me if she sees me. That was what happened during class photo-taking. But I'm so super glad she didn't mange to see me. Very happy that she was involved in the performance! :) Gonna upload the videos again the next time. :)

12th November ♥

It's my birthday on the 12th of every November. :) And this year my birthday falls on a Saturday! Whee! This year's birthday is mad awesome!

Ian bought an iPhone 4S for me as my birthday pressie! I'm beyond happy! ♥♥ And on Saturday, I woke up to a cuppa KOI milk tea, and a bowl of mee sua that he cooked. :) Lunch was my fave Ippudo that I've been niam-ing to have again!

Kaykay was especially good on my birthday and kept singing 'Happy Birthday to mummy' and '祝你生日快乐mummy' to me throughout the day and night. Very sweet, totally lovely girl. :) She even told me the next day that 'Mummy birthday finish, no more!' Haha, my joy and happiness in all the days of my life. :)

It's been quite long since we brought Kaykay darling to Ikea. And this time we went on a public holiday, and the place is mad packed. Wanted to have a dinner at the food hall, but the queue is all the way out of the hall till the children's section. So we went to Anchorpoint for dinner instead. :)

Dinner at Junction 8

The whole afternoon was horrible for Kayla. She only got a 8 hour sleep, and it was a very uneasy sleep, so wasn't much of a quality sleep. She was ultra cranky the whole morning. Only ate a mouthful of porridge and wanted to nap already. Napped at 1PM, on and off woke up and cry like mad for uncountable number of times. Super poor thing. :( Woke up at 4.30PM, and we had a shower together then headed out to Junction 8 for a dinner. Some Christmas decorations were already up, and Kay's so happy taking photos with the snowmen. Even named different snowmen, aww! :)

Second visit to KKH

Had to rush down to KKH at 4AM on 1st November 2011, cos temperature I took at home was 39.7 degree Celsius. Cannot wait already, have to zoom to KKH at lightning speed. Thank goodness the cab I got on was godsent, very speedy and very steady. On the journey, had to wrap Kaykay into a bundle with her blanket, she was shivering all over. I had to say I am very scared, such a tiny body why have to let them go through so much pain and horrific things. Sigh.

Zero people before us, so we got in took temperature again, and FMLVM, she was 40.1 degree Celsius, I swear I could hear nothing but my hear breaking into pieces. I fear alot of things suddenly. Cut short my grandma story, went to Passage 11 diagnosed and gave her medicine Then observation for one hour and retake temprature again. Second temperature check was 38.2 degree Celsius. Doctor checked and said no throat inflammation, it's 'upper respiratory infection' and says if fever persists for 5 days or more need to go back KKH for blood test. Luckily no need for that.
Medicine: Ibuprofen, Paracetamol, Promethazine, Bromhexine, Oxymetazoline

Then it was the second visit on 3rd November 2011 at around 9PM. This time the whole Children's Emergency is packed like mad! I have around 30 queue number before me, took me 2.5hours till it's Kaykay's turn. Had to return again cos she's coughing badly, mucus flowing all day long, and the medicines just didn't work for her at all. I literally used up the whole box of tissue. This time doc checked and said it's tonsillitis, inflammation of tonsils. :( Took meds and then headed home, concussed only at 1AM.
Medicine: Amoxycillin

Couldn't breathe through her nose at all. :(

I give lotsa weird petnames for Kaykay. Every now and then I would come out with a random name and keep teasing her. And I get really happy to see her smiling and say no to my almost-horrible petnames for her. Little joys like this.

Kaykay's down with fever and then with sore throat, cough and runny nose. Had to go KKH twice in 3 days, it's so terrible to hear the nurse telling us her fever's 40.1 degree Celsius.Will blog more about her KKH trips. Been suffering since last Saturday, so it's partially why I didn't blog for a period of time. Just a few hours ago, little candy vomited and nearly choke on her own vomit, damn upset and I think I'm too fragile, I see her vomitting, I actually feel like crying. I hope after this, she'd be all better, there's a long weekend ahead! :)

Kaykay always does the most marvelous stuffs, says the cutest sentences, and give the warmest hugs. Her memory is super good I must say. She loves picking out clothes from the clean laundry and tells which belongs to who, and gets nearly 100% correct! I can just tell her once, and she can repeat after me for the rest of the month(s).

I don't need Kaykay to be the top scorer, the most intelligent girl or the most gorgeous one. Just be joyous, obedient, understanding, filial and most importantly, healthy. Nothing beats the richness of health. :)

Sometimes little things like these make Kaykay really happy. I seldom buy stuffs for little Kaykay. So when I buy stuffs, I am more willing to buy a big ticket at a go. Haha! Ian would be the kind which sees something nice and buy almost instantaneously. I need to think through and through. LOL.

My precious girl's two years old! Whee! (Extremely lengthy entry with mega loads of photos)

Very excited planning for her birthday. Even the day before the party I was very busy wrapping pressies and throwing in more stuffs into the goodie bags. Hope they didn't disappoint! :)

Kaykay's first birthday bash was held at HomeTeamNS at Bukit Batok. This year, her birthday was held at McDonald's at Ridout Tea Garden! Chose this place, cos it has a playground, a pond with lotsa tortoises, ample parking and most importantly. it's McDonald's, kids gotta love it. :)

Party was back to back, so not much time to prep at all. Reached at 4.45PM and Kaykay was still sleeping. But Sihui, Qingxia and QInghui reached already! They're super sweet, came and even brought pressies for Kay!

Kaypuff loves all sorts of food. Can keep eating and eating, snacks also can eat alot if no one controls. And she requests for rice or noodles or porridge or pasta, all dependant on her 'mood'. Most of the time she'd just eat whatever it is. Some times she'd show sad face and 'niam' that she wants another one. Haha! Can never stop pinching those full little cheeks, too cute!

Went to Sceince Centre 2 months back, thanks to Sophia for helping to get some cheaper tickets for us! :) Love you!

I didn't find anything interesting or fun. In fact was pretty bored, and especially turn off cos alot of the stuffs were non-functional or spoilt already. Not very fascinating. Kay loved the balls in the maths corner most. But my camera died on me before I got there. Lol!

Probably at the busiest peak of my life. 24/7 mummy, planning my kid's birthday party and my own wedding all in approximately 2 weeks. Couldn't be busier! I am so busy and overwhelmed I hardly feel ecstatic for either event. Just lotsa worries if I've missed out on any part.

Kaykay's been looking forward to her birthday party for the longest time. Keep singing 'Happy birthday to you...' everytime we see a cake, or have a box-like pressie. She'd say that cake/pressie is hers, and that it's her birthday! Very adorable girl indeed. :)

Couldn't find time to blog at all. I refrain from the Net everytime I on my laptop to do preps. So here are some really overdue piccies. Check back again soon! *loves*

Yay! Am finally at August 9th photos. OMG!

One day before National Day, there's celebration in Kaykay's playgroup. Kaykay's first ever National Day celebration! Everyone in school's asked to dress in red and white, and is allowed to bring tidbits to school to share. :) I prepared Yupi gummy bears and London choco rolls for her to share with her friends.

It was a random Friday at school, and I picked Kaykay up as usual. She surprised me with a little bag in her hand! I asked her what's that, and she told me 'bah-na-na cake!' Oh my goodness, I was so exhilarated. She actually baked a muffin in school! How special is that. Teachers showed me pictures of her stirring the flour mixture and also putting it into the holder. I'm still very excited to recall that. (:

She told me, that's 'birthday party cake'. So she claps hands!

Javian's full month celebration

Invited to Javian's full month! There was alot of guests and alot of kids! And I can still remember the buffet was nice! (:

Only managed to take a few photos cos Kay was ultra fidgety, cos her BFF is there. Christelle and Kayla together gives a mega deadly combo. I really will faint and drain out every ounce of energy.

There was a period of time when there's this 'black string' on Kay's feet. I have no idea what it was and best part was it kinda shifted from the sole of her feet to below her ankle on the side of her feet. So it's kinda worrying, cos I'm afraid it would be some kind of parasite or what not.

Went to GP, he told me it's ringworm infection, even brushed off the observation that it shifted as me seeing it wrongly. He prescribed a cream and say 3 to 4 days will subside. I gave benefit of doubt, until like one week later then I went to PD for another consultation. This time GP says it's caused by trauma and a month of so would just go off. PD's words sounded more convincing, so I decided to listen.

One fine day, we realise that the 'black string' popped out at an angle and looks like gonna peak out of the skin. Ian decided to take a toothpick and attempt to remove it. And goodness, really can remove lor! We took a closer look, it looked like very thick hair or some rather hard thread. It's really disgusting cos it's been lying under her skin for almost 3 weeks. I still can't figure out how did it end up beneath her skin. So turns out that both doctors were wrong. -.-"

Kay's first day of school!

Goodness! I finally get to blog her first day of school. Feel like killing myself for my inefficient blogging. Cos now Kaykay's already attending school for nearly two months!

Prior to Kaykay's first day of school, I've been harping over and over again almost daily that she's going to school. And draft out a rough idea of what to expect and how to go about doing it. So she goes very hyped up over it too!

If you've been following my previous entries, you'd notice I've spent lotsa time and effort to research and recce the various playgroups. And my ultimate choice is agape Little Uni. Not going for the brand, it's the place, the curriculum and the environment that puts me at ease. I can wake up earlier to slowly stroll to the station, take the MRT and then skip to the school with Kaykay in hand, I rather do all these. Seriously, I want this than to anyhow throw into any place. I am quite insistent on this aspect.

Now Kaykay still cries when I drop her there. But will still say bye to me, in tearful face. After a minute or so, will be okay and joins in the fun. She recently learnt how to call her teachers by name. And she's even darling and baby to her teachers. Totally loving school very much.

So, we've enrolled her for placement for next year's Nursery class of 3-hours! Very look forward to the times she'd have in agape. This coming Thursday's gonna be the first ever Parent-teacher meeting! I'm very anticipating this. ♥

It's my daddy's birthday and we had a simple dinner at Farmart. I am astonished by the number of people there! I didn't know there's such a place, and the road that leads there is super ulu, something like Malaysian roads.

It's pretty crowded and quite alot of people drinking and all. Even has stingray, satays and tze char. A mini newton. LOL!

Kay had fun eating there cos it's so cooling, somewhere into the woods kinda feeling. Haha!

Haha! Another recce trip! Gonna blog twice in a day! I am usually not so efficient, but today everything went on smoothly and Kay managed to sleep before 12MN, so much more free time!

This time, we went to Sentosa to recce Palawan and Siloso beaches, seriously walk like mad. I'm not a walking person, it was kinda hot so didn't like it at all. And on another day, we went to see if the Merlion near Fullerton was nice, but really cannot make it. -.-"

Went Hort Park on a random day cos needed to recce for photoshoot locations. So brought Kay there and so surprised to find a playground there. Haha! It was like so nice to see a playground cos I thought there was nothing for her to play there. Anyway it was pretty fun for her, and she likes all playgrounds as usual. Haha!

The duo met one fine day again, this time at Takashimaya. I forgot why were we there.

Everytime they meet their nap time goes haywire. Cos they're simply too high to be together and they end up squealing and hold hands like partners in crime and walk all over Orchard. So when they're tired, they don't wanna sleep and end up cranky (and irritating).

But they love each other very much. Every now and then, Kay would mention Christelle and giggle to herself. And I heard from Evelynn, Christelle does that too. They're both so sweet lor. Really is childhood friends, hope they grow up together and love each other all the same!

I think I blog so many times of Kaykay during playtimes, until I don't remember if I've blogged about this before. Anyway, it was super duper hot weather and the sun was terrible! I hid under the shade 90% of the time. The other 10% is when I run out to snap photos. Haha!

Kaykay super love waterplay and playgrounds, squeal and gets excited. But I think waterplay is so troublesome, have to pack clothes and towels. And she doesn't get wet by playing with water herself, but have to go together with Ian. So packing means packing for two.

After each waterplay, she's always drained and goes to sleep within an hour. Must be very tiring playing under the scorching sun.

Playground at Paragon

This has gotta be a very fun playground for Kaykay. It's airconditioned and kids-friendly. Very dumb to say kids-friendly, cos some playground like the one at Marina Square she cannot climb up by herself, each time wanna slide down need to carry her up first. Very tidious, 13KG okay!

The first time she came to the playground at Paragon, she was still wobbling and taking unsteady steps. Now she's a confident tot and enjoying her time here. So usually she will play this with Ian supervising, and I'd go shop around the shops.

But the kids gets pretty rowdy sometimes, like hooligans and too much of a danger for Kaykay to stay. Sometimes I really wonder where's the parent, how come no need keep an eye on the kiddos, occasionally at least. Cos still, kids are kids, they need guidance.

Everytime staying at home with Kay is fun! She does her funny stuffs and make me laugh. Now she've started her playgroup, and we leave home by 12NN and come home around 3+PM. Not much time at home left, after nap and dinner, the time left is quite limited.

Tomorrow is the day where I need to leave her alone in the class for 2 hours straight, I'm crossing fingers that she'd cope well. Last 3 days, she was pretty much a terror, I guess. But she loves school, wants to wear uniform and wants to go school! Just can't bear me to leave her there. After school, when I recap with her, she can tell me bits and pieces of what she did in school, what she ate, etc. Hope tomorrow will be a good day!

Wedding Lunch at Raffles Hotel

My blog is terribly backdated, for nearly a month! Goodness me, I've been very lazy and not switching on my laptop for the longest time! That explains the lack of entries and lagging behind the updates.

12 June, my family and myself went to Raffles Hotel for wedding lunch of Ian's cousin. This is the number-don't-know-what cousin married these two years! Upcoming July got another one, but I pantang so not attending.

Anyway the wedding lunch at Raffles Hotel was 1PM. The food served were those small servings, english style. The wedding's something simple, short and nice. I guess mine would be something like that. (:

I don't really know why kids like Barney. I think it's a really ugly dinosaur. Anyway, Evelynn and I brought our kids out to Marina Square to catch the Barney show. Before the show, the two kiddos totally 'tortured' both of us. By the time it was Barney show, we're so glad we can sit down and rest. (:

First trip to the Singapore Zoo!

On a very random day, Ian and his brother (BIL) decided to bring Kay to the Singapore Zoo! That season was super duper hot! So I was kinda reluctant, I hate the heat very much. Can siam just siam. Anyway, before entering the zoo, I just bua-ed alot of skin block lotion for her. Just put as much as I can, without making her look cakey. LOL!

This zoo trip was pretty much erm, non-adventurous. Cos Kaykay kept wanting to be hugged, and keep scared of every little thing. Plus, she wanted to nap even before we reached the zoo. All of us just kept distracting her with animals and other stuffs to keep her awake. And just when we step out of the zoo, she fell asleep on Ian's shoulder. Very tired by then.

Painting fun

This entry and a few more that follows would probably be weeks of backdate. Anyway, I need to blog everything about Kaykay. Please check back more often! (:

One fine day, I decided to dig out the paint that I bought for Kayla eons ago. Ian and Kay stayed in the toilet to play some paint. It was much fun for her, but after that the cleaning was a tad troublesome and used lotsa water. Haha! But she really loved it so much!

The next two days or so, she kept bringing the toys into the toilet and wanting to play again. So I paused the playing. Cannot every day or so play painting, I rather do others than painting!

And the next day, I offered to let her play some stamping fun instead of wet play. I took those mini potatoes and cut it into simple shape, you can see below. Let her play stamping or chop chop whatever you call it, and it's equally fun for her too! And I even kept those masterpieces of artwork, dried them and kept them in a file! Gonna be awesome keepsakes. (:

Normally I spend a night at Ian's place. And if Kaykay wakes up early enough, we all go to the Bishan Park for a stroll and also to look at dogs running about the dog's play area. Kaykay loves to look at dogs but afraid of getting too near them, which is very like me! I like to see but very afraid of them! Haha!

This time we went to Vivocity for a movie - Hoodwinked Too! The show was big fat yawn, Ian even dozed off. But it was a pretty good first movie experience for Kayla. She ate Provence choco wassants, cheesy hotdog, and drank fresh milk. First 15 minutes of the show she was probably stoning though. Haha!

After movie, went to the outdoor play area to 'exercise' a little. (: She had so much fun trying to walk/run up and down the slope. Very funny to see her tio stuck there cannot forward any more. LOL.

My camera is sot-plug already. Time to change a new one, no more grainy photos please. Imagine next time Kaykay grow up and say, 'Eeyeer, mummy, how come the photo quality so lousy last time one, so blue cannot see!' I think she will despise the photos. LOL.

Shall go buy another pillow for her also, been thinking about it since that day at Orchard with Sophia and Evelynn. Time to just heck, just buy! (:

Spent a whole evening at 313@Somerset, sometime last week. Food Republic on the top storey was pretty good, Ian said the yong tau foo was super yummy! Didn't buy anything for myself, somehow now spending money for myself like very bu she de like that. ):

So many backdated entries, I have uploaded 6 entries of photos to blog. I bring Kaykay out to shopping malls and have lunches there. Always try to see if I would be passing by any play areas for her. If not I think she'd be so deprived of her own share of fun. She loves those kiddy rides and those machines that make music or sound, even those can entertain her quite well also. (:

These few days very lack of sleep like only get to sleep at 4AM. Very zonked out each time, but left with no choice, only time I get undisturbed time to do wedding preps. Normally I tweet quite a bit, now it's like only 2 tweets or less per day. Ke lian like dunno what.

Kaykay's very okay with formula milk and milk bottles now. Using NUK wide neck bottle with latex teat cross cut. And I cut it super extra large hole for her. She can now finish 200ml of milk before bedtime. Morning around 120ml, nap seldom drinks, but if she does, around 100ml or less. Very satisfying! And she points to my nehneh and say no more. Haha! Cute right.

Successful weaning!

Right from the first day of her life, I've been exclusively breastfeeding Kayla. Up till she had her first solid, crawled for the first time, made her first step of walking, I've always been breastfeeding. It's something I feel very accomplished about. Something I am truly happy in doing it.

People often ask me, is it tough to start breastfeeding. I would have to say, yes, but just a little. In the hospital, I was nursing those stitches pain and I needed to latch her every 2 hours. She's so sleepy she kept falling asleep even before nursing. Back at home, every 2 hours, I had to latch Kayla. And the starting of breastfeeding is painful, she would be suckling hard. Gradually, things became a routine, all the way till the day I decided to start the weaning road.

So one week before weaning, I 'pre-empt' her every single day without fail that nehneh, will spoil next week. Keep telling her and saying that she'll need to learn to drink from bottle instead. Sometimes she just nod her head, but other times she'd do a sad face and whine a little. So the day comes eventually.

9th May 2011 - It's a Monday. I kept myself awake since 9AM, before Kay's wakey time to make sure I don't conveniently latch her on, just like every other morning. So when she woke up, I reminded her no more nehneh cos spoiled already. She just frowned at me, with this confused face. So I explained that nehneh become bitter already, not nice, 苦苦 one, taste kaka. Miraculously it worked! Went out the whole day and by sleepytime at night, she just took the bottle and drank a 100ml of Pediasure milk and slept by herself. In the middle of the night she woke up and whine a little, ask for nehneh and I kept repeating myself like a broken record.

The rest of the days were pretty much the same. She didn't ask for nehneh anymore. I thought there might be chances for 'rebound' like she misses it too much and wants it back. But I confirm chop chop guarantee when I pull my top down and openly offered her to drink nehneh and she quickly say no and ran away from me. Must be thinking I'm a monster.

I did backup my plans with a little stuff - the anti-nail-biting lotion which I got from Evelynn and which Evelynn gotten from Yuanmei. I applied on the first day when I went out, cos I'm afraid Kay would whine big time in the car. But end up she managed to tide it through. So at night, she kept whining for it, and my engorgement was super terrible, so I latched her on a little. She tasted a very mild version of the lotion cos it's after so long hours. She just frowned and gave me that 苦苦 face. I offered again and she looked at me and continued drinking. I'm amazed. But after this time, she doesn't want it anymore.

Now about my engorgement. Oh my! It was really so terrible. It was rock hard, and I had to get up several times in night to relieve it. I had to use freaking hot towel to bua my breasts to express the milk out. I am damn afraid of blocked milk ducts. I don't want what mastitis or inflammation. So I rather endure the pain. Super painful and tiring. Engorgement only got better after the fourth day. I am now a happy mother. I just hope the breasts don't sag please. I will die looking at them for the rest of my life.

So actually, Kayla weaned herself off, I'd say. Just a little reinforcement on my part. She's adapting super well, but it's my breasts which made me ran fever for two whole days and nauseous. Thanks to Evelynn and Sophia always listening to my endless nehneh rants. Anyway, now she's happy with her Pediasure and sleeps well. (:

I am full of happiness to have breastfed her for 19 months in exact. Very glad I've been able to go all the way. If I ever have number 2, I guess I'd probably do it slightly shorter. But still gonna breastfeed, it's a mother's 天职. (:

Headed to The Clementi Mall just opposite Clementi MRT station with mummy one day. The mall was pretty decent! It has got NTUC finest, all the drugstores, Fish&Co., Crystal Jade, even has got library and Paper Market! I think I'm gonna go there more often cos of the mall. (:

We're already into the month of May. Very scary as to how time flies! A few more days Kay will turn 19 months, just 5 more months before she turns 2 years old! I can't imagine all the fun, but this year I can't celebrate her birthday for her, still a very big headache for me. Cos I planned to celebrate her birthdays till at least she goes primary school. This years clashes with my wedding celebrations, I'm very upset about it. ):

Now that Kay's so expressive and a little chatty, I talk alot the whole day. Just keep reading storybooks and more storybooks. Asking alot of questions and explaining alot of stuffs. All these are for the better future, but sometimes I really talk until I don't feel like talking to any one else, really saliva dry liao.

Next week I would start the mega project to wean Kay off breastfeeding. I've come thus far doing a fab job of breastfeeding her for 19 months. Saved tons of formula milk powder money. Had lotsa convenience at night when she fusses in the middle of the night. I have to say it's hard to say good bye to breastfeeding. Especially the very tight bonding I have while holding Kaykay and breastfeeding. Looking at her smile while nursing, kiss her fingers and enjoying her touching and sayang me. Aww, giving me a flutter of emotions now. But I need to let go before she can. So yes, I have to, just a phase just a phase just a phase. This can be my slogan already.

Macaroni!

I cooked yummy macaroni for Kaykay one night. Since afternoon I cooked the chicken stock with chicken bones and one delicious chicken thigh, together with carrots. (: Dinner time I just cooked the macaroni and then mashed some carrots, and minced the chicken thigh and added a little chicken ham. ^^

The biggest sense of accomplishment is none other than seeing her nomming all her dinner and yet asking for more! (:

Fidgets on Good Friday

Fidgets on a public holiday seemed to be a wrong choice. The whole place is packed. Got parties going on, and there's balloons sculpting, face painting! Plus got all the smell of perspiration, kids e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e. Luckily it got better after a few hours, and we could sit down at some random area for some aircon.

Went with Sophia, Evelynn and Yanwen. Didn't have much time to catch up with the girls cos I'm busying trailing behind this little girl of mine. Meet soonish! (:

April's coming to an end, and May then June and July, I'm anxiously counting down the days to her school commencement. I'm on kanchiong mummy, but I can't help it. My first daughter and I'm totally anticipating every single new milestone.

Somtimes I think the way I blog is very like 'storytelling', I keep typing and typing, that's it. I don't know how to sound interesting, or add in emotions or make my entry look very 'lively'. I'm just a very plain Jane and don't know how to spice things up. And hor, I don't have much topics to blog about. -.-"

Maybe Kaykay got my camwhoring genes. Aiyoh, everytime she get hold of a camera, be it a digicam or even a handphone, she sure do that self-shot action. Very the adorable la! I swear no one teaches her that, and no, I don't take self-shots infront of her. So, she probably figured it out herself, smart de! (:

Kaykay & Chrissie

When the weather's good, normally I'd bring Kaykay out for some outdoor activities. Like say playground, groceries shopping or to the library at malls. My fave is the library, can just soak there for darn long. I always borrow lots of books for her, end up I need to go return and then will conveniently go borrow more again. Good habit, so okay mah!

Parenting books I will also borrow. Read up for more tips, not necessarily useful now, but never know! Anyway, met up with Evelynn and cutie Christelle at Lot One library. Loves mini trips like this, lets Kaykay meets up with kids and also let me know someone to talk to and laugh together with like some crazy woman.

Always go library with the kiddos makes me and Evelynn very worry if we would get chased out of the library. Sometimes they scream and squeal in joy, Kay will push chairs all over the place, etc.

I ran out of ideas of what title I should put as anymore. I don't usually do it before this blog, so I'm not creative with it at all. Haha!

Can't wait for her playgroup lessons to commence, totally feel that she's a sponge now, ready to absorb lots. July, July, please come soon! Now everyday at home, she pesters me to read storybooks to her over and over again. I can read the same three books to her for more than 10 times.

I just repacked her toy shelves, and I'm in need of more containers! Totally very into packing mood now, tomorrow gonna fly to Ikea to get some more of those colorful containers! *beams* She already knows where her individual toys are and know how to take from the containers and put them back. Maybe not all the time, but after me reminding her to do so, she'd do it. Very happy that she does it every single time and I just have to smoochie her lots.

Two weeks before, she was very engrossed with Barney and Elmo DVDs. My bad, I thought she really loved it so Ian and I bought quite a few for her. But she got too into it she keeps watching it alot of the time in the day and night. Until I started noticing her staring hard, sometimes blinking and squinting her eyes. I cannot take it, have to wean her off this bad habit of watching TV. So, I off the TV all day, even I don't get to watch any TV. So during her mealtimes, it was only the Letterland alphabet songs, but good enough cos she love it too! So far so good, cos everytime she starts pointing to that DVD player or DVDs, I just tell her 'Let's go read a book together!' and it works wonders! (: Today just allowed her to 10 minutes of TV on okto, that's for being the most obedient kid. ((:

Routines in the morning

Looking at Kayla, I feel very fortunate. To have such a lovely girl calling me 'mummy' every day and night. I might not be the perfect wife or perfect daughter, but for this little puffy I'd be the best mother to her. It's hard to fathom such a strong emotion and love before motherhood. But once you're in it, it's comes only naturally.

Kay starts her day with milk and water, followed by brekkie. And then, the rest of the afternoon would be of flashcards, storybooks from library, board games, coloring activities, motor skills enhancements, Ladybird storybooks, Letterland, and some grocery shopping at times!

Everyday is quite of a routine, but I like it that she requests to read, makes me feel very glad that she actually loves reading, especially Ladybird books. Flashcards are her favorites! I do the traditional flashing like card by card. Now she can go more than a hundred cards at a go, maybe more. But my palms can't hold so many cards. There's pictures cards, dots cards, etc. I think they do help her learn more. Letterland is fun for her too! She dances along the Letterland songs, uber cuteness.

If there's anything I have to redo, it would be to be more insistent on introducing and keeping bottles in her daily 'programme'. Breastfeeding is indeed a very 'convenient' way and I didn't see the need to wean her off. But 18 months! I think it's time. So I will stock up on weaning remedies, and also some backup plans, before I go full-force to wean her off 100%. Hopefully before June. (:

18 months of joy and happiness

Kay's 18 months old. (: I couldn't ask for more, a happy and a healthy baby! Sometimes happiness is just so simple. Looking at her whole day is sufficient for me. I can go like a broken record, on how cute she is, how obedient she is, how she amazes me, how she understands me, how she is just so unique.

I squishy squash her face every day. Smooch her a million times each day. Hold those tiny fingers. Stroke her messy hair. Aww, looking at her grow is a very touching thing. I would sometimes wish time could go a little slower, moments like this is just so heartwarming. The fuzzy feeling I will never want it to go away. (:

Mushy talks aside. Kay's gonna take another jab on Tuesday, I hope fever would be at bay. Update again. Maybe more wordy entry next. ((:

It was a super sunny Saturday, but we decided to go ahead with our plans to bring Kayla to the playground at IMM. The sun was merciless and I'm still nursing my semi-recovered tummy flu. So I kept a distance from the playground and watched from a distance, while Ian brought her all around. Aww, it looked super fun, and it's so nice to see Kay smiling and enjoying herself so much.
