Diapers, oh, diapers!

Diaper, diapers, and more diapers! ((:

Be it cloth diapers or disposable ones, this is one thing which mummies and daddies will be doing so many times daily. At first, we'll all fumble a little and get so clumsy over how to wear a diaper properly fitting on our dearest darling. And that tiny umbilical cord stub that's dangling there, Well, practice make perfect! There's no one way to tutor on a way to put on a diaper. But no worries, you'd very soon perfect the art of putting it on without fuss. (:

Now, here to share a little about myself going through a whole lot of diapers. Before Kayla's birth, I had been googling and searching for the best recommended brand of diapers. In my opinion, every baby is uniquely different, so don't compare babies. But I love reading reviews, cos if something is really good, majority of the market should be agreeing with it. So the result I got was that Pampers and Mamy Poko are the top choices. Let's not name those bottom list. (:

For me, there's a few things I look out for, in sequence of importance to my girl and me. Comfort, reliability, price. Why do I place 'price' as the last one? I would rather pay a little more for my girl's comfort, and make sure she doesn't get bad skin rashes or cries all the time cos it's making her uncomfy the whole day long. It's very important that diapers don't 'giap' baby's chubby thighs. Those marks always cause me heartaches, if I open and see them. This is because their skin is so tender and oh-so-delicate! Next to be sure of, is that it doesn't leak, often. My guess is that it's almost impossible for diapers to not leak at all. So, safest bet is to find one which doesn't leak that much.

After Kayla's birth, I practically have all the brands of diapers available in the market. As in sample pieces. And one pack of Pampers Newborn from KKH. So that's really enough, so don't fret that you don't have enough diapers. Even if that happens, send your husband to buy some from supermarts! (: I tried out every single brand of diapers. Be it Pampers, Mamy Poko, Drypers, PetPet, Fitti, Huggies, etc. The best was, Pampers. (:

Pampers: No leaks, no painful marks at the side of thighs, side tags are pretty. Available in newborn size.

Mamy Poko: Very good quality, I think it's even better than Pampers. Good quality tags, enough leg space for my girl's chubby thigh. Available in newborn size.

Drypers: Good enough for Kayla, more economical too. Doesn't leak easily, unless it's 'overloaded' or that she pulls her leg upwards. Oh, I mean leaking of her watery poop, as she's fully breastfeeding.

Huggies: Caused a lot of skin rashes at the inner side of her thighs during the first weeks. ): I dumped the rest of the samples after first use.

PetPet/Fitti: Stiff cotton and Kayla looks uncomfy in it. I dumped the rest, just like Huggies!

Now, Kayla's using Drypers Wee Wee Dry, size L. Initially, we decided on Mamy Poko, but it's too hefty to pay for the humongous amount of diapers she's using. So we switched to option two. (: So far so good. Leg space and leaking not a problem at all. I change her diaper around 3-4 hours maximum. I would love to use Mamy Poko if the price ain't that high. If your room is spacious enough to stock up on diapers, you might wanna let your dear one use Mamy Poko overnight, for more comfort and less probability of leaking.

Below's a list of website, numbers and brands of diapers. In case any of you mummies or mummy-to-be might find it handy. (: Just keep in mind that, as a mummy, it's very important to save at much as we can, but not at the expense of our precious' well-being and health, of course. I'm not including other not-so-common brands, as they have astronomical pricing!
